Board of Directors

As well as a Chief Executive, Forth Valley GIS has a board of 6 directors:


Alan Moore

Alan Moore, Chief Executive

Alan Moore was appointed Chief Executive of Forth Valley GIS in April 2008 and has over twenty five years experience in the geographic information systems industry. He started his career with the Ordnance Survey and following various posts around the country, then joined Central Regional Council as part of the Corporate GIS Unit that was to become Forth Valley GIS.

He then worked as Corporate GIS Manager for West of Scotland Water for 4 years and as a Consultant with Ordnance Survey prior to returning as head of Forth Valley GIS in 2002 and to lead the team through formation of the new local authority company.

A postgraduate of Edinburgh University, Alan is an Executive Member of AGI Scotland and a member of the Society of IT Managers (SocITM).



Barry Dickson

 


Barry Dickson, Director, Chair of the Board

Barry is Head of Business Improvement and Technology Services for Clackmannanshire Council, and has been in post since April 2006. He is responsible for Customer Services, IT Services, Business Improvement and Procurement for the Council. His previous roles have seen him working in other local authorities in Scotland and England in a variety of roles associated with Business Change and IT.Barry has also worked in Higher Education in both the UK and the US and trained and worked as a teacher.

Barry ran his own business for 14 years before returning to work in the public sector.He is a post graduate of Paisley University and is a committee member of the Society of IT Managers (SocITM) Scotland



Stephen Bell


Stephen Bell, Director

As Head of Development Services at Clackmannanshire Council, Stephen is responsible for the strategic management and delivery of a range of regulatory services for the Council including Planning Development Management, Building Standards, Environmental Health and Trading Standards.

With a professional background in Planning, he joined Clackmannanshire Council as Head of Planning Services in 2000. Prior to this he had pursued his career inplanning and local government management, over a twenty five year period, with five different Councils in both England and Scotland.

Stephen is a postgraduate of Heriot -Watt University and is a Chartered Member ofthe Royal Town Planning Institute.



Fiona Campbell


Fiona Campbell, Director

Fiona joined Falkirk Council as Head of Policy and Performance Review in 1995 in the run up to re-organisation having previously been Head of Operational Support for Social Work Services with Central Regional Council. Fiona has been Falkirk Council’s representative on the management group of FVGIS since 1996 and was subsequently appointed to the Board of Directors in 2007.

Fiona has a planning degree from Glasgow University and was previously a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute



Rhona Geisler


Rhona Geisler, Director

Rhona is currently Director of Development Services with Falkirk Council, a position which she has held since 2000. Rhona has worked in local government, in various roles, for almost 30 years. Rhona is a qualified solicitor, having graduated with a degree in Law from the University of Glasgow in 1979. She is also a member of the Society of Local Authority Chief Executives & Senior Managers (SOLACE).



Kevin Robertson


Kevin Robertson, Director

Kevin Robertson is currently Head of Performance, Resources & Waste within Stirling Council, with responsibility for Waste Services, Catering & Cleaning Services and Fleet Services, along with the provision of ICT, Finance and HR support, and performance management within Environment Services. He has over 25 years experience working inlocal government.

Kevin has previously worked within the field of roads and transportation, and has extensive experience of project and contract management and in the developmentand implementation of business improvement and asset management systems.

Kevin is a Chartered Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers, and a postgraduateof the University of Stirling with an MBA in Public Service Management.



Willie Watson


Willie Watson, Director

Willie Watson has been Stirling Council’s Head of Resources for the last five years and his role includes being the statutory Chief Finance Officer as well as having responsibility for Asset Management and Procurement.

Willie represented Stirling Council on the Joint Management Group from 2003 and was subsequently appointed to the Board of Directors in 2007.

Willie is a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy.
